Report of Webinar on Identification and Management of Nutritional Disorders among School Children in COVID 19 Perspective
As part of the 必威体育betway888 Year of the Nurse and the Midwife, the Department of Community Health Nursing, 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, MAHE, 必威体育betway888 conducted a webinar for school teachers on identification and management of nutritional disorders among school children in COVID 19 perspective on 15/08/2020 using Microsoft teams. The objective of the program was to create awareness among school teachers on common nutritional problems among school children and its management.
Mrs. Reshma R Kotian, Lecturer, Department of Community Health Nursing welcomed the participants and gave the message on importance of organizing this event as the 200th birth Anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of Modern Nursing. Dr. Shashidhara Y N, Professor and Head, Dept. of Community Health Nursing sensitized the participants regarding the COVID 19 pandemic and educated them that good nutrition plays an important role in maintaining health. Mrs. Manjula, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing delivered a session on common nutritional problems among children and also educated them about the essential diet for boosting immunity during the current pandemic. Dr. Ansuya, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing delivered a session on identification and management of nutritional deficiency. She also highlighted in her speech how to manage the challenges in school when children return to the schools. A total of 22 participants attended the program. This program was coordinated by Mrs Reshma R Kotian, Dr. Ansuya, Mrs. Manjula, Mrs. Jeyalakshmi K and Dr. Shashidhara Y N.
