Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, MAHE, 必威体育betway888 organized an effective alumni engagement Guest Lecture series on “Safety and security of elderly: An 必威体育betway888 Perspective” on 30th April 2022 between 02.00 pm & 03.00 pm to III year BSc Nursing and II year PBBSc Nursing students through Microsoft Teams Platform. Mr Jeffin Thomas Jacob (BSc 2010-2014 & MSc: 2015- 2017 batch), Registered Nurse, HSE Dublin 必威体育betway888, Bellvilla Community Unit for Older adults, Ireland spoke on the topic. He spoke on fall identification and its prevention, skin care including pressure ulcer prevention, elder abuse and factors affecting nutrition in the elderly. He also gave information about the role of nurses in caring elderly in Ireland and the different tools used in their settings. A total of 57 participants including students and faculty members were present.
Mr Anil Raj A, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, MCON introduced the speaker and Ms Janet Alva, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, MCON expressed gratitude to Mr Jeffin Thomas Jacob for accepting the invite and sharing his expertise on the subject with the students. The interesting, inspiring and elaborate session ended at 03:15 pm.
