Mrs. Saroja Jaykumar, AGM of Medical Services, 必威体育betway888 Hospital, Bengaluru, the Guest of Honor of the day, in her address said that the present students of generation Z are highly technical and just want to move fast. Also, to the aspiring nurses she told to challenge themselves, speak out, question, communicate and not to base their thinking on assumption. She emphasized the outgoing students should look forward five years ahead and stop following the path of past. Few of the qualities which she emphasized are be open to learning, take time to correlate what is learnt, put the learning in to patient care, challenge every assumptions and be kind to everyone amidst the hurried task.

Dr PLNG Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor (Quality Assurance), MAHE, 必威体育betway888, in his presidential address said what you learn during your course is tip of iceberg. You have to continue to learn lifelong. He also added, as long as we are able to convey, listen, empathize & sympathize with your patients, relatives and other professionals, we won’t face problems related to legal and ethical issues.

Awards for meritorious students for their excellence in education and faculty members for their various achievements were distributed. Best outgoing student was awarded to Ms. Alphonsa E T.

Dr. Mamatha S Pai, Professor and Head, Department of Child Health Nursing was awarded the most accomplished faculty. Good Teacher award was bagged by Mrs. Sheela Shetty and Mrs. Prima J J Dsouza, Assistant Professors, MCON 必威体育betway888.

Dr. Anice George, Dean 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, 必威体育betway888 welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. Judith Angelitta Noronha, Associate Dean and Head of OBG Nursing department, MCON, 必威体育betway888 presented the Annual report of the college. Dr. Melita Sheilini, Assistant Professor and Convener of the Annual Day program proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Radhika R Pai, Assistant Professor, compered the formal program.
