Orientation Programme - 2023

The Freshers’ Orientation program of the 33rd Batch of BSc Nursing, 29th Batch of PBBSc Nursing, and 7th Batch of NPCC Nursing was organized by 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, MAHE, 必威体育betway888 on 1st August 2023 at the Dr. TMA Pai Hall II, KMC, 必威体育betway888. The Chief Guest of the program, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor, 必威体育betway888 Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), 必威体育betway888 addressed the newly joined students and their parents. He gave a brief orientation about MAHE including ample opportunities available for various curricular and extracurricular activities. In his talk, he highlighted that nursing is a unique profession that is dedicated to the healing and welfare of patients. He further suggested incorporating three ingredients such as cognitive, psychomotor, and affective for effective learning. Dr. Judith A Noronha, Dean, MCON 必威体育betway888 gave a brief introduction to the institution and introduced the faculty members. Orientation to the Nursing Services was given by Dr. P. Suba Sooria, Head-Nursing Services, Kasturba Hospital, 必威体育betway888. Orientation to student support services offered by MAHE was explained by Dr. Arvind Pandey, Deputy Director, Student Affairs (Health Sciences), MAHE, 必威体育betway888.
The students and their parents were familiarized with the hostel facilities by Col. Vinod Bhasker, Chief Warden of MAHE Hostels. This was followed by an introduction of teacher guardians to the freshers and their parents. A total of 134 BSc Nursing, 13 PBBSc Nursing, two NPCC Nursing, and their parents attended the programme. Dr. Judith A Noronha, Dean MCON 必威体育betway888 clarified the doubts of students and their parents and gave concluding remarks.
