The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, 必威体育betway888 celebrated the 必威体育betway888 Day of Midwives on 5 May 2021, following the theme “Follow the Data: Invest in Midwives” given by the 必威体育betway888 Confederation of Midwives (ICM). The idea of having an 必威体育betway888 Midwives’ Day was thought to be celebrated worldwide to recognize as well as honour midwives and this came out of the 1987 ICM conference held in the Netherlands.

As part of ‘必威体育betway888 Midwives’ Day 2021’, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, 必威体育betway888 organized an E- Poster competition on “Role of Midwifery in Future Health Care” from 5th to 11th May 2021 for the faculty and students of Constituent Units of 必威体育betway888 Academy of Higher Education, 必威体育betway888. Around 18 professionals actively participated in the competition. The evaluators for the poster competition were Dr Sonia RB D’Souza, Professor and Head, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, Dr. Radhika R Pai, Assistant Professor-Senior Scale, Department of Fundamentals of Nursing, and Dr Sushmitha R Karkada, Assistant Professor-Senior Scale, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, MAHE, 必威体育betway888.

The first place was secured by Mrs Bharathi R Nayak, Assistant Professor, 必威体育betway888 School of Nursing, and the second place was secured by Dr Yashoda Sathish, Assistant Professor, 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, MAHE, 必威体育betway888. Mrs Ranjani Palanisamy, Assistant Professor-Senior Scale, Department of OBG Nursing, MCON coordinated the E-poster competition.
