World Cancer Day 2022-2024 theme: ‘Close the Care Gap’
World Cancer Day is celebrated every year on 4th February to create awareness on cancer and its prevention.
The Department of Community Health Nursing and students of 4th year BSc Nursing, 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, MAHE, 必威体育betway888 on 4th February 2022 conducted a Radio awareness programme on cancer and its prevention. The programme was broadcasted by Community radio, 必威体育betway888 at 90.4 MHz on February 04, 2022, at 4.00 pm onwards and re-telecasted on February 05, 2022, at 12 Noon.
The department also organized a cancer awareness programme on 5th February 2022 at Community Health Center, Brahmavara. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Ajith, Medical Officer CHC Brahmavara, and spoke cancer and its causes to the participants, followed by his talk Dr Pradeep Poojary, Dental surgeon CHC Brahmavar addressed on oral cancer and its prevention. After the inaugural session, posters were displayed at OPD of the CHC on causes of cancer, signs and symptoms, diagnostic measures, and prevention of cancer. A total of 60 participants participated in the event. The 4th year BSc Nursing students were involved in poster presentations and explained to the participants. Along with this programme educational pamphlets and masks also were distributed to the participants.
