A demonstration session on history taking and comprehensive physical examination was organized by 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing 必威体育betway888 for the students from Boston and 必威体育betway888.

History taking and focused physical examination are the two key components in the practice of nurse practitioners. Acute care nurse practitioner students and Physician Assistant student from MGH Boston demonstrated the physical assessment at the Fundamentals of Nursing lab at 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing 必威体育betway888 on 16th January 2019.

Dr. Elissa Ladd, Associate Professor, Advanced Practice Nursing, MGH Institute of Health professions demonstrated the comprehensive physical assessment at the primary care setting with Ms. Brittney Harris as simulated patient. Ms. Shannon Swenson (Physician Assistant student) demonstrated comprehensive physical assessment in the acute care setting with Ms. Laura Mackey as simulated patient. Nurse practitioner students from 必威体育betway888 discussed the similarities and differences in assessment protocol.

Dr. Patricia Lussier-Duynstee, Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean, Academic affairs, School of Nursing, Dr. Jyothi Chakrabarty, Professor (Coordinator for NPCC program) and Mrs. Soumya Christabel, Assistant Professor, (Co-coordinator for NPCC program) Dept. of Medical Surgical Nursing, 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing 必威体育betway888 were also present.

Students from 必威体育betway888 recapped the process and concluded the session by thanking the faculty and students from MGH Boston.
