Report of Virtual 必威体育betway888 Meet
The annual alumni meet of 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing (MCON) and 必威体育betway888 School of Nursing (MSON) 必威体育betway888 was held on 17th January 2022 through virtual mode. The programme started at 2.30 pm with a welcome address and introduction of the Chief Guest by Dr Radhika R Pai, Assistant Professor, MCON. Dr Wilson Fernandes, Principal, Institute of Nursing Education, Bambolim, Goa was the chief guest for the program. He emphasized the role played by nurses during the Covid-19 pandemic. He further shared the lessons learnt and experiences gained at 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing and how they helped him to reach his current position.
Dr Rohit Singh, Director –必威体育betway888 Relations, MAHE was the Guest of Honour for the program. He said alumni need to be connected with their alma mater and also elaborated on the facilities given to alumni members.
Dr Judith A Noronha, Dean, MCON emphasized on how and in what capacities the alumni members can coordinate and support the alma mater. She further described regarding NEP initiatives and their role in alumni relations including support towards infrastructure development and knowledge activities. She briefed the importance of registration by alumni members towards registering and being connected with the alma mater network and its role in the growth of the institution.
Dr Tessy Treesa Jose, Associate Dean, MCON 必威体育betway888 highlighted on utilization of the opportunities to grow professionally in our own respective areas so that our alma mater also grows in the same dimension. She congratulated Dr Wilson, the chief guest for achieving the current position. She insisted the alumni members to use our alumni portal as a perfect mode of contact development, to learn and to grow in a uniform platform. Former Dean Dr Anice George said that MCON and MSON have played a major role in societal development and all the graduates are in various positions either in clinical or educational institutions.
A total of 76 alumni attended the programme. Ms Anu Baby (MSc 2012-2014 batch) sharing her experience said the knowledge and skills that she had acquired at MCON contributed tremendously in her career. Mr Jazeel Abdul (BSc 2006-2010), Ms Upama De (MSc 2004-2006), Sr Tesline (MSc 2004-2006), Ms Rintu James (BSc 2002-2006), Ms Meera (1994-1997 GNM), Ms Irene Lobo(1986-1990) shared their memories during this meet.
