Continuing nursing education (CNE) is an effective approach to maintaining and elevating professional knowledge for nurses. Considering the valuable input of CNE and the need for widening the view in the area of the nursing profession, the 2nd year MSc Nursing students of Psychiatric Nursing speciality, 必威体育betway888 College of Nursing, as part of the curriculum requirement, organized a CNE programme on ‘Management of Aggression in Patients’ on 24th March 2023 from 02:30 pm to 4:30 pm in Shri Shirdi Sai Hall, KH 必威体育betway888.
Ms. Riva Das II year MSc nursing student welcomed the faculty of the department of Psychiatric Nursing and the participants to the program. Dr. Binil V, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatric Nursing, MCON, MAHE, 必威体育betway888 was the resource person. He explained the importance of having knowledge of aggression management to protect self and the patients. He also emphasized that by using proper skills and techniques nurses can prevent violence and protect themselves from aggressive patients. During the session, many self-defense techniques were demonstrated by the MSc nursing students to the participants. A total of 35 staff nurses from Kasturba Hospital, 必威体育betway888 attended the session.?The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Sumalatha. P, II year MSc nursingr student.
