‘Indigenizing Evidence Synthesis and Systematic Reviews for 必威体育betway888 Development and Global Challenges’

必威体育betway888 College of Nursing (MCON), 必威体育betway888 Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), and Public Health Evidence 必威体育betway888 Asia (PHESA), Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), MAHE, received the prestigious Scheme for Promotion of Academic and 必威体育betway888er Collaboration (SPARC) grant. SPARC is a Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India initiative that aims to facilitate collaboration between Indian institutions and the best institutions around the world to jointly solve problems of national and/or international relevance.
A two-year project spanning from July 2019 to July 2021, will be lead by Dr Baby S Nayak from MCON MAHE as the principal investigator (PI) from India and Dr Sandy Oliver as the PI from University College London (UCL), London, UK. The Co-PI(s) from India are Dr Anice George, Dr Bhumika TV, Dr Sonia RB D’Souza, and Dr Binil V from MAHE and Co-PI(s) from UK are Dr Claire Stansfield, Dr Preethy D’Souza and Mr. Jeff Brunton from UCL, London, UK.
The project aims at capacity building in evidence synthesis, incorporating the latest developments in systematic reviews including automation and machine learning to equip researchers from India. Through collaborative learning, MAHE through this project aims to contribute to the public health needs and help in the professional growth of researchers to carry out region-specific community projects.
During the project, research scholars, early career researchers, post graduate students and faculty from MAHE will be trained by experienced researchers and staff from the UCL, UK; in new methods for Evidence Synthesis. Collaborative workshops between MAHE and UCL will be organized for consolidation of bilateral cooperation through academic and research partnerships between India and U.K.
