The tenth national conference on Condensed Matter Physics and Applications (CMPA 2022), organized by the Department of Physics, 必威体育betway888 Institute of Technology (MIT), 必威体育betway888 Academy of Higher Education, was held at the Sir M.V.Seminar Hall, MIT, 必威体育betway888, on 2nd and 3rd of December 2022. The special theme of this year’s topic was? “Materials for Environmental Sustainability. The event was sponsored by Science and Engineering Board, Govt of India.

Ever since its inception 9 years ago, this annual series of conference has been attracting delegates and researchers from various parts of the country. About 200 Physics faculty, students, and research scholars from institutes and universities across the country participated in the event. There were six invited talks, and 110 research papers were presented in ten technical sessions during these two days.

Chief guest Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor, MAHE, 必威体育betway888, inaugurated the conference at 9:30 a.m. on December 2, 2022. Cdr. Dr. Anil Rana, Director, MIT, 必威体育betway888, presided over the inaugural function. Dr. N. S. Vidhyadhiraja, Professor & Dean, JNCASR, Bengaluru and Sri. Rama Naik, General Manager, Canara Bank, were the guests of honor at the inaugural event. The conference was concluded on 3rd December 2022 with a valedictory function held at Sir M.V.Seminar Hall, MIT, 必威体育betway888. It was presided over by Dr. Ashok Rao, Associate Director-必威体育betway888 and Consultancy, MIT, 必威体育betway888. Dr. Nagesh Kini, Co-founder and Chief Technological officer of Vimano EWA Private Limited was present as the chief guest of the event. The two-day national conference gave insight to the aspects of different fields of physics such as materials for environmental sustainability, semiconductor devices, material characterization, crystal growth and characterization, spintronics materials etc.
