Overview

In a world increasingly interconnected, health and related challenges such as COVID, Climate Crisis, Carbon, Conflict, Credit, and Chips have been major concerns. The Department of Global Health Governance (DHG) was established to advance knowledge and expertise in the field of global health governance and address the inherent challenges that the world faces. As an academic institution, we focus on transcending national boundaries, enhancing global agreements, instruments, and alliances, and preparing joint action plans at national, regional, and global levels. DHG envisions a world where health governance systems are robust, equitable, and responsive to the needs of all individuals and communities, regardless of geographical location or socio-economic status. We aim to be a catalyst for positive change in global health by promoting effective governance mechanisms and policies. We strive to do so by conducting multidisciplinary collaborative research, fostering critical thinking, and promoting evidence-based policymaking to address pressing global health challenges. With the objectives of high-level policy dialogue, policy research, policy output, and policy advocacy, the DHG seeks to make an impact on global health governance.

Centre for Health Diplomacy

The Centre for Health Diplomacy was established with a vision to tackle public health problems at the interface of Health and Foreign Policies through education, research, and policy advocacy. The unprecedented challenges posed due to pandemics and other public health emergencies of international concern threaten the basic functions of foreign policy related to global security, economic stability, human dignity, and social justice. These concerns have brought “health diplomacy” to the limelight of discussion in domains of both health and international relations. Thus, the Centre for Health Diplomacy with its mission to position itself as a leading Think Tank in health diplomacy brings the two specialties together by advocating for collective action and attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
