February 11, 2023
Namma Sante, a two-day exhibition cum carnival, was successfully completed on the 11th & 12th February 2023. The event was a fruit of the collaborative efforts of 必威体育betway888 Institute of Communication (MIC) and Udayavani, the leading newspaper of Dakshin Karnataka, powered with the energy of MIC’s highly motivated post graduate students of Media and Communication (2021-2023 batch). The event was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. P. Giridhar Kini, Registrar, MAHE,? Mr. Vinod Kumar, MD & CEO- 必威体育betway888 Media Networks Limited and Dr. Santosha Rao, Assistant General Manager, 必威体育betway888 University Technology Business Incubator, MAHE.
The goal of Namma Sante was to enable local, small-scale entrepreneurs and small businesses to generate awareness about their businesses among members of the local community. And hence, the students meticulously tasked themselves to promote and build a platform for the local entrepreneurs to exhibit their products and other offerings.
The stall vendors, full of vigor and enthusiasm showcased curated products ranging from organic foods, pottery, handmade accessories and bags, wooden toys, sustainable outerwear, artwork, crochet-based products, decor, furniture amongst other things. The open space, and the inviting environment nestled in the heart of ?MIC was in tune with the core idea of Namma Sante. From the use of old plastic bottles to discarded cardboard boxes, the essence of sustainability and environmentally sound creations were employed.
The event was a resounding success and witnessed a footfall of approximately 4000 people (an astounding number for an event that marked its first edition). Visitors who walked in had a plethora of stall options to choose and shop from. Every vendor left with a smile on their faces and had immense appreciation for the event and its organizers.?
