MIC Creates Waves at WAVES 2024: A Historical First

必威体育betway888 Institute of Communication (MIC) marked a historic milestone by making its debut at the prestigious WAVES 2024, the annual cultural fest of Birla Institute of Technology, Goa. WAVES, known for bringing together colleges and universities from across India, witnessed an impressive participation of 64 students from MIC, competing in diverse events ranging from music to fashion.

This was the first time that MIC participated in the fest, and it became a memorable achievement for the vibrant talent and cultural prowess of the college. The high points of the fest were the electrifying performances by the college's dance club, Meraki, led by Bhavatna Prasad (BAMC III), which competed in the Rhythmics category and captivated the audience with dynamic choreography and energetic performance.

The theatre club Kalamanch, headed by Keerthishree (BAMC III), staged an awe-inspiring 20-minute version of the highly elaborated play ‘Vilay’ in the competitive Rangmanch category. Their very engrossing narration with impeccable acting deserved great admiration.

The public speaking club yELL, led by Afrah (MAMC II), impressed one and all through its brilliance in literary events such as Cultural Gauntlet, Short Story Writing, and debates.

Music enthusiasts from MIC made their presence felt under the banner of Unplugged, led by Pavana (BAMC III). The club displayed its versatility by competing in Silence of the Amps and Indian Rock, enthralling audiences with their soulful and high-energy performances.

The fashion club Fanatics, led by Shreya Das (BAMC III), did an excellent job in reaching the runner-up position in the Fashion Parade category. This is the first time MIC has won in this event, which clearly reflects their creativity and flair. In the much-awaited Mr. Waves category, Krish Gosain (BAMC III) performed with a lot of charisma and talent.

Under the guidance of the team supervisor, cultural coordinator, Mr.C.Manikandan, and faculty member, Dr. Debjani Halder, the success was only made possible. The relentless motivation and encouragement from Dr. Padma Rani, Director of MIC became the force behind the spirits of the team.

Such was the debut of MIC in WAVES 2024- a testament to the versatile talents within the institution and yet, a promising start toward great cultural excellence in the days to come. Their hard work, dedication, and teamwork had brought immense pride to the college, now a fast-rising star in the national cultural scenario.
