CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Dr. Nayva Vyas is an Assistant Professor-Senior Scale in Master of Public Health Programme, Dept of Global Health Policy and Governance, PSPH, MAHE, 必威体育betway888. She has post-graduation in Public Health specialising in maternity and child health and a Ph.D. on ‘An Assessment of civilian biodefense preparedness in the state of Karnataka’. She has worked as District Epidemiologist, under Integrated Disease Surveillance Porgram (IDSP), Govt. Of Karnataka, Dakshina Kannada. She has a very good understanding of Public Health System in India. She currently is? Alummi Coordinator for PSPH, MAHE.

    She coordinates ‘Global Health Symposium’ which is an event in collaboration with Maastricht University, The Netherlands, and McMaster University for over 300 Masters students of public health and global health across 6 universities around the globe. She also Global Health and Humanitarian Medicine course (GHHM) , an online course on Tropical Medicine for doctors run by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).? She participated in COVID-19 response activity as WHO External Monitor at Udupi District in 2021 and is part of a team in MAHE for the development of a module for Global Health for Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) virtual student exchange program.

    Dr. Vyas has? attended and conducted training prorgramme and workshops on basic Medical entomology, outbreak investigation, biosecurity and field epidemiological training programme. She has completed projects for UNICEF and BOSH as Co-PI and has received project grant under MAC ID seed grant, D A Prasanna endowment fund, ISID-Pfizer as PI. . She has published more than 25 scholarly publications indexed in Scopus & Web of Sciences and has contributed to 4 book chapters. She is a recognised guide for doctoral candidates and serve on doctoral advisory committee within MAHE.
