Dr. Feba David

Assistant Professor

Dr. Feba David is an Assistant Professor of Economics at DLHS, specializing in the History of Economic Thought (HET), with a particular focus on women economists and Indian economic history. She is also engaged with the CHESS project at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, examining "Colonisation in the History of Economics and Social Sciences." Previously, she held an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Economics at CHRIST (Deemed to be University). Feba holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hyderabad, an M.Phil. from Central University of Gujarat, an M.A. from Central University of Kerala, and a B.A. from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Her recent scholarly work includes "Women in History of Economic Thought: A Critical and Historical Perspective" (2025) in Review of Development and Change. She is an active member of the European Society for the History of Economic Thought (ESHET), the Indian Society for Ecological Economics (INSEE), and the Indian Society for the History of Economic Thought (ISHET). In 2024, she presented on Dr. Sarada Raju, the first woman Ph.D. in Economics from Madras University, at the 27th annual ESHET conference in Austria, at the CHESS Project launch workshop in Paris, and at the 1st 必威体育betway888 Conference of ISHET at Hyderabad. Her research interests span the economic history of fisherfolk, climate change resilience, and the historical representation of women in economic thought. She has also delivered invited guest lectures at several institutions including UoH, MIDS, NEHU, and Central University of Kerala.
